Santa Fe Engagement Photos

When a friend asks you to photograph their wedding.  Probably the highest compliment you can receive as a wedding photographer.  I take that back, when a friend asks you to photograph their wedding and gives you complete creative freedom, that is the highest compliment you can receive.  Which leads me to the Santa Fe engagement photos we created!

Speaking with Cada about the engagement photos she asked if I would be willing to go to Santa Fe to take them.  Santa Fe engagement photos? I was 100% in!  I hadn’t been to Santa Fe since I was a kid and I was really excited to go back! Also to explore with two interesting and hilarious people.

We explored the main art district downtown and wandered down back alleys. Tiptoed our way on rocks down by the stream on a nature trail.  We laughed, talked, they snuggled and I recorded those moments.

Hospitality at heart.

I felt so welcomed by Cada’s parents at their stunning, yet cozy new digs just outside of Santa Fe.  This house was made to host a wedding!  It’s amazing how quickly Cada’s parents had made their new house a home.  With cocktail in hand, I was given a run through on the flow of the day and a tour of where everything would go.  Let me tell you, it is clear this wedding is centered around hospitality.  Hospitality, very much extended to me.

We spent a weekend feasting on art, amazing food, and of course creating memories in the form of photos.  We enjoyed a beautiful home cooked meal, enjoyed a beer or two and waited for the night sky to make it’s grand entrance. Then took in all it’s splendor.  Working with couples that not only respect your vision, but give you the same level of creative energy and sense of adventure make this job one of joy.  Thank you to Cada and Quin for a lovely time and for bringing so much energy and excitement to your shoot and for the wonderful hospitality!
