Romantic Hygge Winter Engagement

As winter settles in and snow begins to fall, there's a unique sense of coziness that descends upon the Colorado mountains. This feeling is known as hygge, a Danish word that translates to a sense of warmth, comfort, and contentment. It's a way of life that celebrates the small things. Like the glow of candlelight, the warmth of a roaring fire, and the joy of spending time with loved ones. It's also the inspiration behind this romantic hygge winter engagement session.

Engagement photos are a way to capture the essence of your love story, and winter hygge engagement photos offer a unique opportunity to showcase the beauty of this season. With the snow-capped mountains as a stunning backdrop, couples can create romantic and intimate photos that celebrate a snowy winter season.

Winter hygge engagement photos are characterized by a soft, muted color palette, cozy textures, and natural elements. Think wool blankets, warm sweaters, and fluffy scarves. The focus is on capturing the warmth and comfort of being together. Possibly snuggled up in front of a roaring fire. Or taking a romantic stroll through the snowy woods. In this case, toasting champagne in front of a frozen waterfall.

Ali and Trevor's dog, Kiwi was also able to take part in the engagement session, adding a touch of playfulness and joy to the scene. Kiwi at times was the star of the show. She has a mind of her own and wanted to be featured as much as possible. Meaning she was constantly bribed with the very best treats.

Frozen Waterfall Engagement Photos

We captured the romantic winter hygge engagement photo shoot in front of the frozen waterfall that was truly magical. As Ali and Trevor snuggled up for the photos, the frozen waterfall provided a stunning backdrop. This created a breathtaking and ethereal atmosphere that was perfect for the occasion.

To begin with, Ali and Trevor are real life mer-people. Both are exceptional freediving instructors, planning their Mexico wedding. So we thought it would be fun to highlight some winter Colorado water in the engagement photos.

As we settled in to taking photos, Ali and Trevor were able to relax and be themselves, allowing me to capture authentic and heartfelt moments. The photos were able to showcase the beauty of the winter season in the Colorado mountains, while also capturing the intimacy and tenderness of their relationship.

Colorado Mountain Winter Engagement Photos

Throughout the photo shoot, Mother Nature provided lighting that was completely on board with the hygge theme. Bouncing between a warm glow, that I enhanced with some off camera flash, to overcast and cozy adding an intimate touch to the photos.

I loved capturing Ali and Trevor, with Kiwi in coxy moments, cuddling up together and creating memories as a family. The goal is for these photos convey the warmth and comfort of being together, as well as the joy and contentment that they share in each other's company.

The frozen waterfall added a touch of enchantment to the scene. Creating a cozy and romantic atmosphere that was perfect for the occasion. The delicate snowflakes that fell from the sky added a touch of magic to the photos, creating a winter wonderland that was both beautiful and ethereal.

The end result was a collection of photos that were romantic, authentic, and filled with hygge. Capturing the essence of the winter season in a way that was both beautiful and heartfelt. I wanted their experience to feel like taking a snowy winter walk date. Bringing Kiwi along, was important since she wouldn't be at the wedding. I wanted to make sure she was a focal point. But it's also important to get a few moments just between Ali and Trevor.

In conclusion, the romantic winter hygge engagement photo shoot that was captured in front of the frozen waterfall was truly magical. I loved the accessories, warm blankets, and champagne creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Thus highlighting Ali and Trevor's love and the bond they share. With the frozen waterfall and winter landscape providing a stunning and magical backdrop. I hope the photos were able to capture the essence of the winter season in a way that was both authentic and heartfelt. The end result was a collection of photos that showcased the who Ali and Trevor are and the fun they have together.
